This drink is amazing warm but is also effective even when sipped on at room temperature. Amongst its many properties, turmeric aids our immune system while honey helps dissolve mucous. Another ingredient in this fabulous elixir is fresh ginger, which is antibacterial so it helps support the immune system, it also has antiviral properties and clears up congestion. The last ingredient is a half of a chopped lemon with the skin left on since lemon peels contain 5-10 times more vitamins than lemon juice. The antioxidants present in lemon peel can flush out the harmful toxins and free radicals from the body, thereby improving your immunity.
It’s quick and easy to prepare, just be sure to use the best ingredients you can get your hands on.
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 lemon chopped in pieces (rind left on)
1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger (more of you like the way it tingles your tastebuds)
1/2 litre warm water
1 teaspoon raw honey
Mix all the ingredients except the honey in a jug, add honey as soon as it cools to room temperature. Stir and enjoy!
