Nourishing Date Smoothie

This frothy date shake is a delicious quick breakfast in the cooler months, I also love this as a healthy afternoon pick-me-up snack. When you hit that slump at 3 o’clock and start craving chocolate or coffee, make this quick smoothie and savour every sip.
The main ingredients are dates, which are rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and help to promote ojas, or vitality. You can use organic whole milk or almond milk, it’s up to you.

Ingredients
4-5 whole Medjool dates
1 cup almond or whole organic milk (preferably not homogenised)
A pinch of cinnamon

Instructions
Warm your milk, cinnamon and dates in a pan.
Put in your blender and process until dates are ground fine.
Serve warm in autumn and winter or at room temperature. If it’s summer or you have a strong Pitta imbalance you can serve this slightly cool (not cold) and skip the first step.
