Watermelon, Lime, and Cardamom Summer Smoothie

Here’s a delicious smoothie that will energise and balance you during the hot summer months.
Watermelon is a strong diuretic, flushing stagnant fluids from the feet and hands, which directly reduces swelling. So this is the perfect fruit for waterlogged Kapha or overheated Pitta. Since summer sweating depletes electrolytes and the adrenals, Vata individuals may find the additional diuretic effects of watermelon too drying. Watermelon is also a great antidote for liver exhaustion thanks to its hight beta-carotenecontent.
Digestive organs are weak in the summer, haven’t you noticed how your appetite wanes? That’s why adding cardamom to this smoothie helps stimulate digestion without adding excess heat.

Ingredients:
2 cups watermelon
half lime, juiced
1 teaspoon raw sugar (optional)
1/8 teaspoon cardamom
